Paradise Poker ReviewParadise Poker is an all-around great choice in an online poker room. It's ranks very solidly across all of the most important factors in a poker room. Specifically, we think that Paradise Poker rates extremely well on dimensions of experience and reliability, player traffic, playing experience, and game choice.
Experience and reliability: Paradise Poker has been around for quite a while now (in online poker terms) since their opening in 1999. Their time in the business has given them a good amount of experience, and it gives us a lot of confidence in the reliability of both their software and their staff. We haven't encountered any serious problems in our time playing at Paradise Poker, and they have always been responsive to any customer service inquiries. We do wish that Paradise Poker offered a customer service telephone option, but they have always been quite reliable by email.
Player Traffic: Player traffic is a strong positive for Paradise Poker. Paradise ranks second to only to Party Poker in terms of player traffic. You can always find a real or play money game at your betting level at Paradise Poker, at any time you choose to log on, and that's an important feature of any good online poker room. In addition, in our experience the players at Paradise Poker have been very friendly and personable.
Playing experience: The Paradise Poker gaming experience also rates up there with the best in online poker rooms. Although the graphics aren't over the top, the playing environment is crisp and smooth, with easy to understand features and buttons. Games tend to move along quickly and without technical difficulty. Like other poker rooms, Paradise Poker will email you a hand history at your request, a nice feature that allows you to study past performance and improve your game. Game choice: Paradise Poker offers a few additional games that most other online poker rooms don't offer. At Paradise, you can play 5 card draw, an extremely popular game in home games, as well as 5 card stud and pineapple. If you're interested in these games, Paradise Poker is a great place to play.
The negatives at Paradise Poker are not many, but we would call out two things. First, Paradise Poker does not have multi-table tournaments at the moment. And second, while Paradise Poker offers a fairly wide range of betting limits, you can't get below a $0.50 minimum. This is no problem for moderate and higher-limit poker players, but rookies or very low-limit players may want to consider the very cheap tables available at Pacific Poker.
In sum, we're very supportive of Paradise Poker, and think you'll have a nice experience if you decide to open an account there. Good luck at the tables! |
